Today I've been spending time at Team Training with some lovely ladies (& a gentleman).

Part of team training is to swap items we have made based on a theme - this month the theme was Christmas.

In a previous blog post you will have seen the 'moose' card I made for a friend who has relocated to Canada - at the time I mentioned that I was thinking about adapting it for Christmas and this is exactly what I decided to do.

I stamped the snowflake from the Sparkly & Bright Stamp set onto Whisper White using Rich Razzleberry - the same colour I used for the card.

I used the lovely Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper to sit my Rudolph onto - I thought this looked a bit like snow!  I used the Corner Rounder Punch on both the Whisper White and Paper to soften the edges.

I then reached for Chocolate Chip and Close to Cocoa cardstock and my 1" Circle Punch to make the face.  The 1 3/8" and 1" Circle Punches were used to make the antlers.

The nose was of course punched from Real Red with the 1/2" Circle Punch with the eyes punched the same size from Whisper White.  The eyes were punched from Basic Black using the 3/16 hole on the Crop-a-dile.

Rudolph was then assembled using Snail, two-way glue and Dimensionals.

I hope you like him as much as I enjoyed making him....

This afternoon I had a lovely time introducing some lovely ladies to Stampin' Up! products at a party.

This is the Make and Take they made.  It was lovely to see people who were self-confessed 'non-crafters' be thrilled with their finished cards.

The hostess wanted 'bright' so I think this certainly hit the spot!

The card used Tempting Turquoise and Pixie Pink cardstock from the 'Bold Brights' colour family.

Greenhouse Garden was the stamp set used with Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron, Regal Rose and Rich Razzleberry ink pads.  The Regal Rose front flower was 2-step stamped with Melon Mambo.

The corner rounder punch was used to just soften the corners of the Whisper White and Pixie Pink layers.

The front flower was punched out using the 1 3/8" circle punch and then mounted onto a Pixie Pink Scallop Circle.  The crop-a-dile was used to make a hole to place the Clear Rhinestone Brads.  This was all mounted onto Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon.

I'm pleased to say that this afternoon's hostess earned a free stamp set and free product.

Don't forget that the Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon is only available while stocks last.  Contact me to place an order or if you are interested in hosting a party.

As I was watching Wmbledon I was inspired to make a card in purple and green - in a muted way.

This card was the Make and Take for a few parties I have done recently so I wasn't able to show it before as it would have spoilt the surprise.

The stamp set used was Lovely as a Tree with one of the sentiments from Trendy Trees.

The guests used Certainly Celery for the base card and stamped the oak leaf tone-on-tone with Certainly Celery.

They then stamped the Oak tree onto Whisper White using the rock and roll method firstly using Old Olive and then rolling around the edges and trunk using Soft Suede.  This was then softened using Blender pens to create the watercolour effect.

Matting the tree onto Lavender Lace and So Saffron was the next stage.  The sentiment was stamped using Lavender Lace and punched using the Oval and Scallop Oval.

The finishing touch was the Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon.

Remember that some of the colours are only with us until the end of September so please get in touch if you would like to order before they go.

It's team training again tonight - that came round very quickly.

Tonight our swaps are 'Summer Invites' and here is my interpretation.  I decided to use some vibrant colours and used quite a few of my punches to make the card.

I used Summer Sun for the card and Only Orange for the matting.  I then turned to the briliantly versatile Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper for the second mat.  The bottom of the mat was then embellished with some Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon which I tied a knot in to add some dimension.

For the flower I used the Scallop Circle and punched a piece of Summer Sun cardstock.  I then cut out a circle from Only Orange cardstock using my 1 3/8" Circle Punch.

The middle of the flower used the spiral stamp from the Trendy Trees set using Rose Red ink onto Whisper White.   This was then cut out with the 1" Circle punch.

The stem used the branch from the Two-Step Bird Punch and the lovely Nouveau Chic Designer Paper.

The leaf was made by using the Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the sentiment 'You're Invited' several times from the Cheers & Wishes stamp set with Sage Shadow onto Sage Shadow cardstock.  The leaf shape was made with the Oval punch.

Don't forget that if you want to get your hands on the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper or any of the retiring colours then you will need to order before the end of September 2010.  Please contact me if you want to place an order.

It was a sad day yesterday as one of my work colleagues left.  She is starting a new chapter of her life in Canada for two years as her partner is relocating.

As it was going to be a tough day for all concerned, I decided that I would make her a cheerful and fun card with a Canadian theme.

I knew I wanted to make her a comedy moose and sat for ages looking at my craft items wondering what to do.  Then, inspiration hit me and I reached for my circle punches (1 3/8" and 1") and cardstock in Chocolate Chip, Kraft, Real Read and Close to Cocoa.  The wobbly eyes are from my craft stash.  I then attached the completed moose to a piece of Nouveau Chic Designer Paper and mounted it all onto a card made from Close to Cocoa.

Here is the result.

I'm pleased to say that they liked their card and I'm looking forward to paying them a visit when they are settled in Canada.

I can see me adapting this for Christmas cards by adding a red nose.
